Embedded Middleware Developer Trainee – EBS/ABS System and Integration Team

The development of electronic braking systems and functions is obviously a high priority area at Knorr-Bremse both in terms of applied technologies and scale of projects. New generation of braking systems developed at Brake Control Department shall support all types of commercial vehicles around the world, shall be prepared for electromobility, and it is also going to play a key role in enabling autonomous driving. Development of such systems is a considerable technical challenge, and it needs us to have the best engineers on board.

As a Middleware SW Developer, you will understand Customer and internal requirements and develop solutions that are able to cover both actual and future needs. As middleware covers a relatively wide area of the brake control software you will be able to learn various areas of SW development and on the long run you will organically develop into a SW Systems Engineer role. SW development at Knorr-Bremse is typically said to be a wider and higher responsibility activity than in other automotive companies, therefore you’ll be gradually involved in a certain extent into the complete automotive V-cycle (requirements management, SW architecture design, SW implementation, SW testing and potentially test bench/vehicle level verification as well).

• Interpretation of customer and system requirements
  
• Creation of technical and safety requirements and implementation concepts
  
• Active participation in the design of SW architecture
  
• Implementation & testing of embedded SW components
  
• Support development and configuration of new product variants

  Creation of reports in Power BI
  
• Specification of reports to visualize adherence to development processes
  

• You have BSc or MSc preferably in any of the following fields: electrical engineer, informatics, mechatronic, or mechanic engineer
  
• You have good problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and „system approach”
  
• You are confident in embedded SW development (C/C++)
  
• You have good communication and teamwork skills
  
• You are fluent in English
  

• You have experience in automotive software development (knowledge of ASPICE, ISO26262)
  
• You have AUTOSAR knowledge (especially Microsar from Vector)
  
• You have UML knowledge
  
• You speak German
